Difference Between Brow Henna and Tinting

Tinting is an eyebrow hair dye that is specifically formulated for the hair of the eyebrow. Eyebrow hair is a lot different from head hair. They are a lot lighter, finder, and a lot more delicate so when we tint the eyebrow hair, we put on a special formula it helps us to define and darken the hairs.

Tinting adheres to the hair only, Veer as if you choose eyebrow Henna, it is a formula that ideas to the hair and to the skin too. So henna gives you a nice shadow effect underneath your eyebrow hairs making them look a lot fuller, much more blended, and almost as if you have makeup on your eyebrow.

Tinting is fantastic for people who have fuller brows already because the tint already adheres to the hair that are already there. It allows us to create more darker brows and adds more definition to the brows so if you have a stubborn gray if you have hairs that a lighter than you wanted to be or needed to be, or maybe weaker hairs like maybe you over tweeze and just those little baby hairs that are growing back in, and they just need a little bit of extra color or definition, it adheres to the hair and hence tinting is fantastic.

If a person has a little less hairs, and has gaps throughout and needs a bit more fullness, henna is a great option because it adheres to the skin and it allows to fill in those areas to make it look like a more complete eyebrow overall.

How long do tinting and henna last?

Tinting, as it adheres only to the hair, it can last between two to four weeks. Henna, because it hairs both to hair and skin and lasts up to 5 to 10 days on the skin and up to six weeks on the hair.

How to choose between both?

If you are going on a Trip or if you have a special event, and if you have a full eyebrow already, tinting is a better option specially, if you don’t want to look super filled-in or overdone.

Whereas if you have gaps in your hair or very light hair color and you want it for a longer period of time and if you don’t mind leaving the salon with a really full eyebrow, then henna might be a better option for you.

Important information about Henna and tinting!

Both henna and tinting contain an ingredient called PPD. It stands for Para Phenylene diamine and is used as a hair-coloring oxidant. PPD is an ingredient that allows the color to be very vibrant on the skin and the hairs when it is oxidized which means when it hits the air.

This really provides the color and the processing in both tinting and Henna. PPD can often cause an allergic reaction in a small percentage of the population so to be safe, get a patch test performed especially if you have never colored your hair before. Patch tests can be done on the inner part of your wrist or at the back of the ear.
